DCCC IS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK!

Delaware County Community College has been recognized in the Chronicle of Higher Education “2010 Great Colleges to Work For” Program in the Confidence in Senior Leadership category.

The results, released today in the Chronicle’s third annual report on the Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of more than 42,000 employees at 277 colleges and universities nationwide.

In all, only 97 of the 277 institutions achieved “Great Colleges to Work For” recognition including 77 four-year institutions and 20 two-year institutions. Results were reported for small, medium and large institutions, with Delaware County Community College included among the large institutions with 10,000 or more students.

The national recognition is based upon a two-part assessment process: an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.

To administer the survey and analyze results, the Chronicle worked with Modern Think LLC, a strategic human capital consulting firm that has conducted numerous “Best Places to Work” programs, surveying thousands of employees nationwide.

“Great College to Work For” is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. For more information and to view all the results of the survey, visit the Chronicle’s web site at http://chronicle.com/academicworkplace.

Founded in 1967, Delaware County Community College is the center of educational opportunity in Delaware and Chester counties with more than 28,000 students enrolled each year.
